Albright Visitors Center Yellowstone Orientation Map

Named after Yellowstone's first superintendent after the National Park Service was formed, the Albright Visitor Center is one of the former housing units for the military when soldiers were stationed here during the early years of the park. The historical theme of the lower floor of the visitor center displays many artifacts used by some of the earliest inhabitants of the park and provides a sense of how life used to be around Yellowstone. A collection of predator and prey animal displays on the second floor of the Albright Visitor Center will give you a new appreciation of the awesomeness and size of some of Yellowstone's wildest residents. A cougar, wolves, and bighorn sheep are just a few of the life-sized displays you will see posed in their natural setting. During the summer months, there is a backcountry office that operates out of the Albright Visitor Center. Here you can receive backcountry camping permits, fishing permits, and boating permits as well as receive information about current conditions related to trails and weather.
