Activities
The Fountain Freight Road travels 3 miles (6 miles round trip) through an open range of meadows and young lodepole pines on the outskirts of the Lower Geyser Basin. Although it is outside of the main geyser basin area, there are still hotsprings and thermal pools along the trail. One of which is Ojo Caliente Spring, only 0.8 of a mile into the trail. The gravel trail continues to head south taking you behind the Midway Geyser Basin and ending at the Fairy Falls trailhead. Overall the the trail is very flat and wide enough for 2-way traffic. |
