Vistor Centers & Museums
Located on the banks of the serene Yellowstone Lake, the Fishing Bridge Visitor Center and Museum is a wonderful place to make a pit stop when you're out and about in the Lake Area. Inside this old log building you will discover the wide variety of wildlife that lives in and around the largest lake above 7,000 feet in North America. There are several animal displays in the Visitor Center, including: grizzly bears, bald eagle, trumpeter swan and many more. Park rangers are here at the Visitor Center to answer your questions about the park, and a Yellowstone Association Bookstore is inside as well.
Once you're done admiring everything inside the Visitor Center, step out back behind the building and sit on the patio overlooking the lake, or kick off your shoes and take a barefoot walk along the shore. If you are staying in a hotel or campground nearby or just traveling through, there is an outdoor amphitheatre where rangers give nightly talks, and a picnic area with several tables for a lunch break.
