Lodging in this region
Canyon Village offers over 500 rooms for you to choose from where you can relax after a fun day of exploring Yellowstone. Dunraven and Cascade are the two lodges in the area, with the rest of the rooms being the Western, Frontier, and Pioneer Cabins. The cabin areas at Canyon Village are broken down into 3 loops: A, C, and P Loops. You will not have to travel far when you leave the comforts of your room to see one of the most amazing natural features in Yellowstone, as the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, containing the Upper and Lower Falls is only a couple of miles away. You can hop in your car and drive down the road to the North and South Rim Drives to see the Canyon and falls, or take the half mile trail at the back of the P Loop Cabins that comes out on the North Rim Drive.
Canyon Lodge and Cabins are also centrally located in the park, making it a good "home base" to travel from. Tower Falls is only 19 miles north, Hayden Valley is only 4 miles to the south, Yellowstone Lake is 16 miles south, and Norris Geyser Basin is only 12 miles to the west. As one of the biggest locations in the park, second only to the Old Faithful Area, Canyon Village has plenty of dining and shopping options like the Yellowstone Adventure Outdoor store, a general store, a gift shop, cafeteria, deli, and dining room to name a few. A coin laundry service is available here at the front of the Canyon Campground. |
